Moa Arts promotes and preserves the arts, culture and heritage of Moa Island.
It facilitates the production of high-quality traditional and contemporary art and craft. The artists from Moa Island are seafaring people with deep connections to sea, land and sky and they draw inspiration from ancestral stories, animal totems and spirit beings.
Emerging artist Paula Savage is of the Serganilgal clan group from the village of Dabu on Moa Island, and the Kaurareg Nation of Muralag and Kiriri. She specialises in hand woven baskets and bags, which are crafted from hand-dyed raffia, seagrass and twine, and decorated with seashells and seeds collected from the island.
