Warnayaka Art Centre is located in the remote community of Lajamanu, 600 kms south west of Katherine, Northern Territory, in the Tanami desert.

The Art Centre is Warlpiri owned and operated, providing employment opportunities for locals and a safe space to create. Artists paint vibrant and bold paintings that connect to the history of their land and its people.

Myra Herbert has been painting for over a decade, using art to connect herself to her country and stories tied to the land. In the past Myra has worked in fine dots but more recently has been expressively painting footprints of the bird varieties found in the Tanami desert.
