Be a part of the vibrant DAAF Public Program in 2020!

Each year, Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF) showcases the work of over 2000 emerging and established Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. The Fair provides a remarkable space for visitors to meet and learn from over 70 different First Nations cultural groups from across Australia.

Visitors can experience art and design that charts the future of this vibrant and evolving contemporary Indigenous art scene. DAAF’s spectacular public program includes artist masterclasses and workshops, traditional dance performances, children’s activity stations, film, artist talks, food, lunchtime music concerts and more! Following the incredible successes of this year’s event, we want to make our 2020 Public Program bigger and better than ever, and we would absolutely love to hear from you!

We are looking for creatives who would like to host artist masterclasses, present traditional and contemporary dance performances, cultural storytellers, and solo musicians. Please tell us how you would like to be involved in the 2020 program. We have updated our expression of interest form and you will find all the information located in one convenient application. Simply select all the relevant activities that you, or your Art Centre, would like to apply for. In each drop-down menu, you will see the artist/performer fee and any relevant terms and conditions. This is great opportunity to share what is unique about your community and its culture. It is also a powerful way to promote your artwork and engage with the Fair’s new and returning audiences.

Participation in the public program is a paid opportunity.

For more information, please contact our Public Program Coordinator, Shilo McNamee, on 08 8981 0576 or

Applications close 28 February 2020, with notification of successful applicants by 31 March 2020.

We can’t wait to hear from you!
