The 9th Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair was officially launched on Thursday the 6th of August by Darwin Lord Mayor Katrina Fong Lim and DAAF Chair Franchesca Cubillo, with a special performance by the One Mob Different Country Dancers. The festivities will continue over the next three days with Artist workshops, presentations and of course the huge range of art works on display from more than 50 Indigenous Art Centres!

Last night also marked the launch of daafFRIENDS – an exciting fundraising initiative in the lead up to the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair’s 10th anniversary.

The Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair relies on government funding and self generated income to operate. However, in order for the event to continue supporting the Art Centres and their artists, and contribute to the economic survival of their communities, we need your support. And there are some great rewards for supporters too!

This is a chance for you to join the Art Centre movement and support the incredible work of Indigenous Artists and Art Centres from across Australia.

Be one of the first to become a daafFRIEND. Support now!
